The houseboat was amazing! This is my 3rd time on an houseboat, but this company is by far my favorite. We booked a a Non-AC- 2 bedroom boat. Honestly the breeze is so refreshing in December that you won’t need the AC. Communication with the owner was impeccable…always kind, never pushy, thorough, responsive, helpful and accommodating. the boat itself was beautiful! It was spacious, 2 beautiful bedrooms, great showers. The food… was delicious…we are malayalee and the food was definitely authentic, plentiful, enjoyable, lots of options, etc. they delivered more than promised. The backwaters view never disappoint- just book this company- you won’t regret it! We look forward to planning our next adventure on with this same company. Wonderful experience. Prashant was very professional and courteous. He guided us very well right from the time of booking. He took extra care to find out about our food preferences and paid lot of attention to detail. He was very accomodating, he even changed our schedule at the last minute at our request. Our captain Pol was very friendly. Special mention to the chef Nibu, who I must say is an absolute Master Chef!!! His preparations of chicken, fish, prawns, crab were mouth watering. Not to forget the vegetarian preparation of sambhar, rasam, couple of sabzis and gobi Manchurian were mouth watering. We opted for a 5 hour day tour for 7 of us. It was absolutely worth it. The views, the boat and t he service were all excellent. Would certainly recommend this ~ Arjun R
My recent boating trip in Kumarakom was nothing short of magical! Located along the serene Vembanad Lake, the experience perfectly captured the beauty and tranquility that Kerala is known for. We opted for a traditional houseboat cruise, and from the moment we stepped aboard, it felt like time slowed down. The boat was well-maintained, clean, and beautifully furnished with comfortable seating and a cozy bedroom. The gentle glide over the backwaters, surrounded by lush coconut palms and paddy fields, was incredibly soothing. The staff were courteous and professional, offering us fresh coconut water on arrival and preparing authentic Kerala dishes — especially the Karimeen (pearl spot fish), which was delicious! Throughout the Kerala trip, the best experience my family and I had was on this houseboat. The staff on boat deserves a round of applause for their politeness, generosity and clarity that I could not find anywhere else throughout Kerala. We arrived late but these guys took the responsibility and took us on a cruise on the next day, that we had missed in the evening due to a car accident, and allowed us late checkout despite the itinerary being different. Another instance worth the praise was that the morning tea was not okay and when we informed them they served another tea again and it was really good. Food, rooms, cleanliness - everything is worth 5 star. Extremely happy with their service. ~ Chetan G
We had a great pleasure of experiencing their hospitality on kumarakom house boat.From start the experience was excellent and communication was smooth and clear. We were a group of 14 people and went for the Luxury Air condition boat. The facilities on the boat was awesome with ample space to rest and lots of place for kids to play around. Loved the views and enjoyed the lovely breeze. The bedrooms were well presented and toilets were clean and looked new. The food onboard was delicious and mind blowing. We tried most of the dishes and each nd every one of them was mouthwatering. Thanks to Prashant and crew for making it awesome experience for our whole family. Such an amazing experience! Was a beautiful houseboat, pretty clean and tidy restrooms and individual rooms with beds for resting, and stellar service! Would highly recommend! The service was excellent— there are working air conditions and fans on the boat, with windows to keep the heat out. The food was amazing as well and super fresh, especially the karimeen (fish fry) and prawns. We also got some crab as well, which was pretty good. If going during the day, they serve snacks with coffee or chai, which was a nice touch! The guys are attentive and super nice , so if there is anything needed, they attend to it. Overall, would recommend to anyone who wants to experience a relaxing houseboat ride in Kerala backwaters! ~ Serena R
Great boat, great food, great route. We are a family of four travelling with our baby and toddler. We contacted Kumarakom Houseboats a week days before travelling with. We changed our minds lots of times on the dates and number of days due to other commitments. They were patient and polite with our changes. They even managed to change our booking whilst on the boat from one night to two. The food was wonderful and Midhun our cook was very friendly and accommodated our needs with a smile on his face. The driver was quiet which was fine. The manager even booked a taxi for us at the end of the trip. The boat was a large single bedroom one with enclosed downstairs and open upstairs. The whole boat was very child friendly which meant we could relax more. Perfect as we hadn't relaxed this much throughout our whole travels in India. A much needed break! It was a wonderful experience. From booking till we got off the boat, the owner Prasanth made sure everything was arranged to our satisfaction. Food was delicious, lunch, dinner, tea and breakfast. They arranged for massage where the boat was halted and they also arranged for a speed boat in between the trip which was an amazing experience. Staff Prasanth, Gireesh and Shiju were very humble and were keen on making sure we are satisfied with the food and service. Excellent service from all of them and the owner Prasanth. I didn't know what to expect when I booked this boat house for our two families. We heard about mosquito bites and spicy foods. These preconceived notions set the bar low for us already. But to our surprise, all of these concerns are addressed. The boat house was beautiful and well-managed, with glass enclosures preventing any bugs from visiting us inside. Kids enjoyed staying on the boat and fishing. Yes, they caught and released at least a dozen fish. The chef dished out some fabulous dishes with the right level of spices, and he cooked whatever we wanted. And even last-minute changes were accommodated without any fuzz. Excellent day trip! Our team was thoughtful and took us through a beautiful, scenic route. The views were lovely, and you get a taste of both the narrow channels of village life and the open waters. They even thought of a bonus for us to stop and buy fresh prawns and crabs for lunch. Lunch was delicious and completely hand prepared by the team themselves during a stop. We had an 11 course meal and were stuffed! On the peaceful cruise home, they provided tasty banana fritters and coffee/tea. We did a day tour, but the bedrooms were comfortable and bathrooms were very clean. We had a wonderful day as a family and would happily recommend this trip and team to anyone! ~ SIMON S
Hired the 4 bedroom houseboat for a family of 12 members. The houseboat is well maintained. The TV and speakers worked fine. The bedrooms are very comfortable and cozy. The deck on first floor is a very spacious and comfortable with ample seating. The food we had ordered was vegetarian. It was prepared very well. The cook Santosh and the boat helper Deep were very helpful. They attended to our requests promptly. The morning ride on day 2 was memorable as the rain drops falling all around the moving boat gave a feeling of a boat floating on a surface of diamonds. A truly unforgettable vision. We booked overnight cruise with Kumarakom Houseboat and had a very good, pleasant and memorable experience. The whole crew were very polite and friendly. The captain Sumesh is very good n he explained n answer all our queries related to the places we visit during the cruise. The chef's Sandesh and Amal satisfied our taste buds with their amazing food in both Non-Veg and Veg. Special mention to their Kumarokkam Fish curry, Mor Kulambu, Rasam, Gobi 65, Chicken Roast, Appam, Puttu and Egg Curry. We enjoyed the food so much and have never had so much varieties in recent times. We would highly recommend Kumarokam Houseboat for our friends and relatives. ~ Arvind A
Our overnight stay in the houseboat at Kumarakom was truly an unforgettable experience. As a newly married couple, the peaceful backwaters, breathtaking sunset views, and the calm morning atmosphere made the entire journey feel magical and romantic. Drifting through the serene waters while enjoying nature all around us created memories we will cherish forever. The houseboat was very comfortable, the ambience was beautiful, and the service from the staff was extremely excellent. The staff was so accommodating when we had to reschedule for the next day due to unavoidable circumstances. We were served karimeen polichethu initially which was sooo yummmmy that we thought nothing could beat it. But, the main course was mind-blowing & since we could not really do justice to each of the items, we requested the staff whether they could pack some for us & they were so quick to say yes that we were surprised and overwhelmed. They explained the areas of interest to us during the ride and that made us enjoy the experience more. Thank you so much Prasanth and team ... you made our experience truly a value for money. ~ V.C. We had a very relaxing and plesent stay at the house boat. Views of the lake were breath taking complimented with amazing food served (lunch, high tea, dinner and breakfast) on the boat. The staff members on the boat were very courteous and humble. Rooms were neat and clean. Ambience was traditional Kerala style. Highlight of the day was fishing (I actually managed to catch a fish!!! thanks to the guidance provided at start by the boat staff). We also managed to see turtles, water snake and different types of birds. Would highly recommend that you reserve a day for this of you are visiting Kerala, it's totally worth it. ~ yogita k
Houseboat, the name itself is quite an experience and it comes to reality when u r staying in one such Houseboat. We were three families with our kids and we stayed in Kumarakom Houseboat. This was a great experience, rooms were identical, all three rooms were near and clean and main part was that the AC was working for all three rooms. Attendents were good, they helped us park our vehicle and helped in loading/unloading of luggage, Deep was a great helper and cook. Overall a nice experience with Kumarakom Houseboat. Really awesome experience. Staying in the house boat and enjoying the backwater ride was tough to explain. The place is so beautiful. More importantly, I would like to mention about the service the house boat people (Prashanth & Suresh) provided. The best ever service I have experienced in my life. The cooked food by them was delicious. And they had arranged net during night stay, so we stayed away from mosquitoes and other insects. You can enjoy with the music system, TV, air conditioner and restless service by the 2 crew members. It is a must visit!!! ~ debasish d

Enjoy the beauty of Kerala through kumarakom house boats is very nice.same to us their procegiure such as food items,room condition, boat model etc..are good.cook and boat driver staffs are very friendly and they share our douts about the life style on the banks of vembanattukayal.the cook make nice food and do his responsibility.first boat face to the pathiramanal island that situated in huge open face of vembanatt lake.very nice experience of lunch on the centre of the lake and small wind make ameze feel.on the tea time passing through the village canals is very beautiful.evening stay make the boat direction to open the room window towards east.enjoy tv programs on night,dinner and sleep.bed rooms are very nice and good bathrooms. Morning we enjoy the sun rise through the windows and hear the beautiful sounds of different birds in kumarakam.morning ride with breakfast also enjoyed.simply kumarakom house boats are cheep in rate ,lexurious and enjoying. ~ chikku
